RIP, Mags!

mags.jpg The Chicago Blackhawk’s greatest defenseman, Keith Magnuson, was killed in a car crash outside Toronto. Magnuson was very active in the NHL Alumni and Blackhawks Alumni and did loads of charity work, and he’ll be missed by hockey fans everywhere. especially when they visit the Hockey Hall of Fame. How many great players will we lose (Tim Horton, Herb Brooks, Dan Snyder, and almost Vladimir Konstantinov) before we learn that hockey players should travel only by rail?

  1. illnoise,
Fear not. You’re not the only American who got the Stan Mikita joke. I have recollections of seeing Mikita play in the late 1970s.

Keith Magnuson’s death is a shame. As a lifelong Blues fan, I harbored a strong dislike of him because he was tough to play against. But I also respected him because he always gave his all. He was one of those guys you would love to have on your team but hated to play against.

  2. All I want to know is why the KFCs in Canada are called Swiss Chalet and why don’t they serve on china here like they do there

    Nitro

  3. I thought Tom Horton was in teh coffee and doughnut business, not hokey.
Man, I learn something every time I come here.

  4. It amazes me that the “Stan Mikita’s Doughnuts” joke in Wayne’s World was lost on every single American but me.

  5. I thought they were called “Poulet Frite Kentucky” in Quebec. I know Ian Whalley eats most of his meals there, and I’ve never heard him call it anything but KFC.
