200cc LML Star at Italian dealers in July

June 8, 2011

Motoblog reports Italian dealers will get the 4-stroke 200cc LML Star in July. Three versions and 20 colors are in the works. Anyone disappointed, as we were, by the discontinuation of the 2-stroke Genuine Stella 150 model will surely concede that it was the right decision if it means a 200cc manual-transmission metal-bodied classic scooter is on the way.

If Babelfish is to be believed:
Minor styling changes from the 150
    New & improved seat
Brighter tail light owing to a better reflector
    Rubber-mounted air filter
    New & improved clutch design
    11.6 horsepower
    10.7 foot-pounds torque
    117 MPG

I don’t suppose Phil is offering anything resembling a straight answer about when we might see this in the U.S…?

Maybe Argo still has a relationship with LML

Orin: No answer. I think Genuine wants to make some money selling 150s before they utter a peep about the 200. As is, some potential 150 buyers that I know (and others, I’m sure) have been delaying their purchases waiting for news of the 200 in the US.

Happy as I am with my 1504T, well, damn, 200! :)

Is Al Kolvites still in the scooter biz?
