from rec.motorcycles: 128 Ways To Dump Your Bike. I’ve got #29, #50, and #95 covered. And a few others they haven’t thought of…
Cincinnati Rally
2strokeBuzz was at the Cincinnati Rally this weekend, and we’ll have some photos (and video) up soon. Thanks Adam and all the other XYL’s for a great time! In the meantime, here are Jeff’s (and now Jhosef’s) pictures from scoot.net.
Isle of Goose TT
How cool is this? A small-displacement TT race in Chicago May 19th. Racing begins at 8am on Goose Island.
2002 Yacht Club
Matthew’s new Bajaj Chetak title is better than Tim’s “Lamborghini” Lambretta title and Rob Hodge’s water bill combined.
Silverwing Review
Gome found this review of the Honda Silver Wing on motorcycledaily.com. Guess what? They love it! Because it’s a MOTORCYCLE!
Piaggio. That’s P…I…A…G…
Some company we’ve never heard of has announced they’re going to import some of those scooter things to compete with them there Vespas.
Race team patches
At the request of Thrasher magazine, the 2SB Racing Patches are no longer available. The full story is coming, next on 2SB: Behind the Music.
Scooter Boys
Rich Alexander found this broadcast of Scooter Boys by Gareth Brown on totallyradio. I bet it’ll be good, if Windows Media Player ever finishes downloading.
Scooter Rally Calendar
John Stafford’s put together a pretty comprehensive list of rallies at
twostrokesmoke.com (no relation). If you’re looking for Galewood 2K2 info (it’s supposed to be here) it’s not really planned yet, I’ll post it ASAP. If you’re wondering why The Unforgiven are hosting a tribute to the Clash’s drummer on April 20, so am I. And yes, there will be a new Hodgehead list, sooner or later.
Bajaj Chetak pricing deadline
Matthew reminded us today that the first US-market Bajaj Chetaks are due to arrive in about two weeks. The MSRP is going up from $1800 to $2000 (equal price to the Bajaj Legends) on February 1st, but pre-orders will be accepted at $1800 until Thursday. Keep in mind that with added charges it’s a bit more than that, but I’m still excited and I can’t wait to crash-test Matthew’s.
Look At My Scooter
Here’s a simple, nifty idea: an easy-to-use gallery of scooters at LookAtMyScooter. Thanks to BSPG for the hook-up!
Amerivespa 2002
The official site for VCOA’s national rally, Amerivespa 2002, is up. This year it’s in Portland, Oregon from May 29 to June 2, cosponsored by the Hell’s Belles and Twist’n’Play SC. They also have a nifty logo by Shag.
Eric Scott Murder Report
Denver scooterist and pot dealer Eric Scott was murdered in his home last May. Denver’s weekly Westworld just published a fascinating story about the murder, accusing the Denver police of dragging their heels, and portraying Eric Scott as a guy who did everything he could to change other people’s lives for the better.
Spice Girls lose appeal
The girls lost their appeal and must pay Aprilia approximately #250,000. Posh’s share is less than 1% of her family’s income, but I’m guessing it’s a lot more cash than Baby, Scary, and Sporty have to show for fiscal year 2001. A predicition: They’ll sue Ginger.
More calendar girls
Randall from scootrs.com is selling some cool-looking calendars on ebay, featuring Vietnamese models on scooters. Randall says, “The days of the week and such are in Vietnamese, but it is easy to figure out. Sundays are marked in red. The pictures, on the other hand, are universally understood.”
