Piaggio today announced the immediate availability of two 60th-anniversary Vespa models in navy blue (“Midnight Blue Metallic”). The LXV and GTV are retro-ized versions of the LX and GT that were originally released in 2006 to coincide with the Vespa’s 60th anniversary (and it took me until now to realize that “LX” is the Roman numeral for “60”).
The LXV is available as a 2-stroke 50cc (€2600) or a 4-stroke 125 (€3400) , the GTV is available as a 125cc version (€4400) or 250cc (€5100). No word on U.S. availability. It’s a bit strange to see these models reappear, but apparently there’s still demand for them, at least in Europe.
