Rumor has it Dean from the Knuckledraggers SC (Quad Cities IL/IA) appears in the second episode of the new History Channel show American Pickers, featuring a Vespa Ape. The episode, “Super Scooter,” should eventually be available for streaming here.

I saw the episode last night. While I am not a big vintage Vespa fan, I love trikes. They rumored that the Vespa Ape is the only one of that particular model in North America. The show itself is pretty cool, two guys traveling across middle America buying up crap.
The Imperial Palace Auto Collection in Las Vegas had a rickshaw Ape like that one. I think they sold it about 10 years ago. It was in mint condition and I think I heard they sold it for around $8500 back then.
