After a year of supply and import problems, PeugeotUSA hopefully has its act together. Andiamo! Motorscooters reports that 200 new Peugeot scooters are due to arrive on Dec. 19th, including the new Elystar and Looxor, both available in 50 and 150 cc models. I think I have a secret crush on the Speedfight2. I feel dirty.

Speaking of scooter art, I finally met Scooterworks/Genuine graphic designer P.J. Chmiel at the Scooterworks open house. What a nice guy, and a kick-ass designer. Check out his weblog.

Glenn Reid’s posters are great gifts for scooterists. Vina has this one over her desk, reminding her how much fun she could be having if she wasn’t at work.

Colin Shattuck of Genuine Scooter Company posted some new info on the boards today:

• The Stella arrival date has been pushed back to early January.
• The first dealers signed are: Sportique, Garners, Scooterworks USA, Moto Strada, and Scooters Centrale. They are all accepting deposits. Stella is focusing on scooter-specific dealers, but may sell through motorcycle shops in locations without scooter dealers.
• Stella is featured in the new Playboy. (“Finally, a reason to pick up a Playboy!” says Colin, heh.)
• Brochures are available by emailing Colin.
• Genuine plans to sponsor the International Scooterist BBS. I should start selling ads, too, with all this free PR I’m giving them, heh.

The 1958 Vespa ridden by Jude Law in “the Talented Mr. Ripley” is up for sale on ebay. Didn’t Matt Damon smash it into a cafe table, or was that a different scooter? Thanks for the tip, Elvis.

ScooterworksUSA’s winter open house is this Saturday (Dec. 7) from 11am-5pm. Their site says nothing, but I remember reading somewhere they’ll have some prizes for scooters ridden to the shop. With all this snow, there shouldn’t be much competition.

I got mentioned on slatch.com today, and there’s no denying that’s cooler than Maximum Rock ‘n’ Roll. If you check one weblog every day, check Slatch. I (heart) Slatch.

And I didn’t even know it! Mark Hanford mentioned us in his August 2002 Netpunk Column. Now there’s something I never thought would happen. I think I’m going to cry. Is it still cool to be mentioned in MRR?

Supergome has confirmed that thanks to Vespa USA, you will no longer need to sew patches on your jacket. I remember joking about this five years ago, and now the joke has become reality. Have a good long weekend, I’m outta here.
