Pardon the nostalgia

The first issue of 2strokebuzz came out just about 11 years ago, and we’ve been online for almost six years. The first year or so of 2strokebuzz.com wasn’t technically a blog, but we started blogging in October, 2001, and most of those posts are still in our archive (though we lost a few in various server crashes, and some dates were lost). So if you’re feeling nostalgic, or you’re just jonesing for more 2sb (it happens!) check the bottom of the sidebar to see what was happening in 2strokebuzz’s past.

  1. Congratulations, Bb. The old stuff is really cool to see and reminisce about. Wow, were the Bajajs really under $2K when they debuted in the US!? Love the Tech Tips, too. Great stuff!

  2. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but Bajaj definitely talked about them being under $2K, then when they actually came out, they sold the first batch at not too high over 2K ($2300? Dealer price was maybe under $2k?) then, with their apologies, the price went up ($2800 retail?) for the next batch.

It’s also interesting to see that the ‘speculation and hearsay” you hear people complaining about (as in “I don’t read the BBS, it’s all speculation and hearsay”), at least what we posted here, just about always proved to be right. We’re lucky to have some very relable inside sources, as well as some very insightful speculators, working on 2sb’s side.

  3. I paid between 2200 and 2400 for a 2002 Chetak out the door price. I could look it up later if you really care. Thanks for helping me remember what an amazing deal it was.

  4. I believe msrp on the first batch of Legends & Chetaks was $1899, which quickly bumped to $1999, then $2399, on to $2699 and finally $2899. I’m pretty sure about that.

    I think.
