Not wanting blend in with the crowd? Looking for something that makes a Heinkel look pedestrian? Well check out this scoot.net ad for the rarest of the rare in the scooter world – a Bastert Einspurauto. Compared to the utilitarian offerings from Vespa and Lambretta in 1952, the outrageous German Bastert looks like it came from another world with an amazing attention to detail and unheard of luxury for a two wheeled vehicle. We would love to know who ends up this!

Even More Lambretta Elitism
The 2012 Lambretta Jamboree put on by the Lambretta Club USA will be held in lovely Colorado Springs, Colorado this summer, just one week after Amerivespa. While Amerivespa is open to any type of scooter and has even been sponsored by the likes of Kymco in the past, the Lambretta Jamboree is 100% vintage – 100% Lambretta. You have an all original 1963 Vespa GS160? Well that’s cute but you aren’t getting in the LamJam with it. 2SB will be reporting at both rallies.
Speaking of Asses
Piston Ported has just come out with their own line of sporty seats for both the Vespa and Lambretta. Of note is the Ancillotti seat for pre-P series large frames, which is ideal if you have a GS, SS, or Rally with the hump for the larger gas tank – or those looking for a seat that a bit more curvy than the squared off P-series version. Now if only he would hire a one legged busty model he’d sell a million….
Continuing Cold Weather Coverage
Since there is no Cold Weather Challenge this year we’ll try to overcompensate with lots of winter riding stories. What could be more fun than riding in the winter? Why, ice racing of course! Check out these great pictures from an ice race in Germany via BlechBild
Last Call For Early Bird Amerivespa Registration
Amerivespa organizers posted on their facebook page that early bird registration has been extended until February 5th, so if you want save a few bucks now is the time to register. This years Amerivespa will be held in lovely resort town of Lake Geneva Wisconsin that should provide for some spectacular rides, that world famous midwestern hospitality, oh and probably beer.
Instant Club Hit
Who knew the Clubman exhaust was 30 years old? or who really cared? Well Mark Broadhust apparently does and has devoted a lot of time and energy into the exhaust. It’s no secret that Mark and his company MBDevelopments have come up with many quality performance parts for the Lambretta over the years but man, talk about information overload! Check out this dyno chart and picture filled facebook post of the history of the exhaust, how he has gone about improving them, and a sneak peak at a new version being made in collaboration with Scooter Center Koln.
Happy Halloween
Future Of The Past
Is a new slogan for Giannelli exhausts, or maybe just a poor google translation. The company is reintroducing many of its pipes for mopeds and scooters from 1980’s on the angle that if it was good enough 25 years ago it’s good enough for old guys with more money to relive their youth with now. Also appears the company will introduce a new exhaust for the 4-stroke LML Stella/Star. Living in the past not for you? Well then maybe the MyMuffler program from Polini is more your style. I’m sure you often thought “boy would I like my name emblazoned on the can of my exhaust” well now you can!
