Second to Last Scooter Club is absolutely thrilled to announce that BajajUSA and Baron Von Scoot are giving away a brand new Bajaj Chetak at the Slaughterhouse rally in Chicago. Reader James Ballot writes “Okay, so maybe we’re being a bit cynical about this, especially since proceeds go to a good cause. But if ya asks me, I think the bloke what pulls up on one of these deserves to be stomped by Rockers.” Which reminds me, I never mentioned anything about John Entwistle on 2SB, as you surely know, he died in Las Vegas on June 27th and the Who are currently on tour without him. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d hold out for the Lennon/Harrison/Entwistle/Moon show, that would be something.

It’s becoming clear that the “Stella” is an upgraded, rebadged LML Star. It’s fun to poke around this site and see how many nutty vehicles are made in India. Not only can you get knockoffs of Vespa T5s, PKs, and Cosas, but also 1992-technology Ford Escorts. And where else could you find a diesel-powered Royal Enfield?

Supergome came across this page on Garner’s Classic Scooters’ site. I’m no scooter expert, but that looks like a PX150disc with a “Stella” logo photoshopped on it. If that’s really an Italian-market PX150, he’s going to have to beat off potential buyers with a stick. If it’s anything else, we’ll see what happens. I’ll try to find out more, such as if “SHIPPING AVAILABLEOeONLY $2,695.00” means shipping costs $2,695.00.

Well, it was a hard-fought match, but Argentina edged France 1-0 to win the World Cup. Oh, wait, that was a typo. I was coming off a long day of breaking rocks in the hot sun, so I nodded off a few times, but was I dreaming the part where Edmilson got tangled up in his jersey for five minutes? I could swear I saw Perluigi Collina smile. I’m pretty sure I was in Slumberland when Davor Suker came out in a yellow shirt and scored eleven goals.

We’ve been seeing more and more new scooters on the road here in Chicago, and it was only a matter of time before a twist’n’go club came along. Vina and I rode to Superdawg on Sunday to meet the 2 Slow to Go SC on their first group ride. There was a good turnout, but I ended up talking to Matthew the whole time we were there, and only got to briefly meet a couple people, including Tim Hugh, who I believe to be the founder of 2S2GSC and the owner of a custom-painted orange Vino. Thanks for having us, Tim, and we’ll see you around!
