Bob Hodge (via TSS:) “I got my AARP Vitamin Catalog in the mail while I was at the MASS Race in Circleville. Take a look at the front cover!
The AARP is using a Vespa in their advertising. Take that ya young wippersnappers, and now git offa my lawn!”
Got an extra $125k laying around? Dump that scooter for a Mach 5!
It takes a while to load, but here’s a cool interactive tour of Carnaby Street, the birthplace of Mod fashion.
PART 1 | by Geoff Przekop | Chris woke up in a haze. Light poured in from the closed blinds and the hangover started. Last night came back to him in a handful of scattered recollections and his eyes pounded with pain. He tried to remember how the night had ended up. He remembered dancing with Trish, a chic little Mod girl from the north shore.

This Satuday (April 27) is the first official ESRA race at Circleville Raceway Park in Ohio, and would you believe MASS is racing the same day on the same track? It looks like it’ll be the largest turnout ever for a scooter race east of the Mississippi River, and there’s a lot at stake. Will Scott Smallwood continue his total domination, or has he finally pushed his bike beyond reliability? Will HodgeGarage finally prove their mettle with their prettified-but-still-bodged “Allshit” Mark II? Will all the east coast newbies be able to keep up with the big boys (no pun intended) of St. Louis? And what can we expect from the new-look Team Primo/2SB? Myk is racing in Custom class with his “Smallwood replica” engine in a new, Smallwood-ish frame, but he still has a lot of work to do before raceday. Durso is racing the rossiverdi PK125/Primavera hybrid, and has a good shot at the new Smallframe class, if his skills are up to par. Matt Primo is racing the Ex-Vespa Haus P200 that gave Bastianelli some success last year, will it help him dominate Stock class? Stay tuned, it’s going to be quite a day.
A Piper airplane crashed into one of Milanis tallest buildings today. Rescue officials say that at least three people, including the pilot, were killed and dozens injured when the aircraft struck the Pirelli high-rise in Milanis financial district. Here’s the story.

Portland’s Rose Festival’s dropped Amerivespa as a sanctioned event this week because of its sponsorship from Suicide Girls, a porn site. Suicide Girls had planned on operating a kissing booth at the rally site and donating memberships for the raffle. Here’s the story from the Portland Tribune, where you can mock Robert Volz’ assertion that he’s never visited a porn site.
X guitarist Billy Zoom’s 1964 Allstate is up for sale on Ebay. With seven hours left, it’s at $3100 and hasn’t met reserve yet. That’s a lot of money for a 125 without a front shock, although it looks pretty nice and it comes with a Zoom-autographed manual and a Wild Gift LP. Plus, it was BILLY friggin’ ZOOM’S SCOOTER!
