Jedi Chad has actually found the only good reason to move to Tennessee. (OK, Nashville is pretty cool, too.)

Guided by Voices rocks us
Here’s the original version of GBV’s Sensational Gravity Boy. (the better-known version with Kim Deal was attributed to “Freedom Cruise” and appeared on the Ret Hot and Bothered AIDS charity EP.) Courtesy of the extensive Guided By Voices Official Web Site.
Stanley Cup
OK, I haven’t found a song for today yet (I was trying to find “Tunes Splits the Atom” by MC Tunes…) but let me just say that New Jersey sucks. What was up with their fans booing Giguere and cheering Springsteen and Bon Jovi? The Devils totally deserved to win, though, they played really well. They’ve won the same number of cups in the last decade as the Blackhawks won in 76 years. The loss kinda put it in perspective that I WAS CHEERING FOR THE DUCKS! How did that happen?
Chicago Parking Medallions
From Christian: “Thought I’d pass this on: You can now renew your city medallion or buy one for a new registered vehicle online. You need your plate number, driver’s license number, and a credit card. They only charge you $1 extra for online purchase, it beats standing in line or paying the Currency Exchange fees.” Let me add that the deadline is June 30 and it takes 15 days to mail them, so do it now. They’ve already been cracking down this year, Soldier Field and Millenium Park are way over budget.
Love’s Happening/Delilah’s scooter meet
OK, I was confused, the Scooter Meet at Delilah’s at 1pm this Saturday is still on, but the motorcycle guys aren’t coming. There are prizes, a ride, and a free pint of Two Brothers for anyone who rides. There’s also a Mod Garage sale (music/clothes) at noon. It’s part of ModChicago’s Our Way of Thinking 2: Love’s Happening music festival.
Wildcat 100
Lee Stromberg has invited scooterists to participate in the Wildcat 100, a 100-mile ride for motorcycles and scooters under 100cc. The ride is September 7 at Wildcat Mountain State Park near Ontario, Wisconsin, which is between Chicago and Minneapolis. Now I gotta find a Bridgestone 90 and get it running by then, that sounds like fun! Christian should take his SS90 and win another goddamn trophy.
MLS Competition, National Team Confusion
Whenever one season starts and before the other one begins, there is a time where the footie fan will have to turn their attention to other things. Gardening, for example, is a wonderful, albeit boring pursuit in the summer. Or even rebuilding a scooter, though you should really have that done by the time Niagara rolls around. For us here in the United States, we are somewhat lucky that we have MLS to keep us sane soccer fans until the next Premier League, Serie A, La Liga or Deutsche Bundesliga season.

Paul Westerberg Rocks Us
I always really dug the Replacements, but after their last couple crappy albums, I never paid too much attention to Paul Westerberg’s solo material until recently. I was missing out, almost every song he’s done since the ‘Mats is incredible, some would say better. David Lucash found a good place to start catching up, though it’s mostly live stuff.
Midwest Rally Weekend
Well, it finally happened, two rallies, one state apart, on the same weekend. Over in Cleveland, POC Phil’s first rally has apparently grown into a huge vintage motorcycle festival, while the Scoots of Hazzard in Indiana promises to be a more intimate drunken camping affair. 2sb hears that the cool-raffle-prize-per-attendee ratio is a lot better in Indiana, but we’re skipping both for a weekend to come off our bacon high.
This is the end, my friend.
After losing top striker Luis Saha to the silverware-encrusted Manchester United, Fulham have embarrassed one of the leagues top teams for the third time this season, Saha not withstanding. Though Fulham’s 2-1 loss to the Red Devils wasn’t the preferred score line, it certainly is indicative of how badly Manchester United are carrying on.

Galewood Photos on scoot.net
There are Galewood 2003 Pictures on Scoot.net. so far there are about 130 photos and you can see scooters in about ten of them, and six of those are of the lammy skeleton in Grace’s basement. Best rally ever.
Galewood update
Two days ’til Galewood. The intinerary has been updated, take a look. If you haven’t already, please give us a shout if you’re coming so we can get a head count.
Peeball results
Arsenal’s season is over, so let’s talk about the only other sport that matters: Niagara Peeball action!

Honda introduces Solo in Japan, So1oSC threatens to sue
Durso let us know that Honda recently unveiled part three of its “N project” 50cc series. The Honda Solo is a brother to the Japan-only Cub and the Play Pocket Zoomer, known and loved in the USA as the Ruckus. God bless Honda for making such silly, pointless, awesome machines. It’s probably a good thing we can’t get it here in the US. Check out the custom order options, why can’t all motorcycles and scooters have that many color combos?
Rockford Rally
The Rockford rally has changed back to Rockford (from Wisconsin Dells). Screw City SC is calling it “Scooter Piracy II: Rut The Wenches”, funny because it’s really the fifth Rockford rally, but the third in the Rockford area, and the first in Rockford proper. It’s like some prog-rock band is naming their rallies. Anyway, it’s July 11-13 and there are separate rides, with hoochie dancers for the guys and karaoke for the girls, and on Sunday there’s a lazy river, so you know Vina and I will be there. Arrr!
