Shoulda taken the day off
It’s National Pig Day and Brookfield Zoo’s celebration includes “the National Pig Day Parade, pig cards, bookmarks, pig noses and paper hand puppets, and ‘Pigopolis,’ an animated video about a city of pigs who learn to become conservation conscious.” I’m not sure if they cook ’em up at the end of the day, but I kinda doubt it. Also in bacon news, Grateful Palate has named bacon “Product of the Year.” So kick back with a Bacontini and celebrate. I should have today off anyway, it’s Kasimir S. Pulaski Day. Thanks for the links, Ryan and Durso, no pun intended.
Pledge allegiance to the rock
If you like music and live in Chicago (or not, they webcast!), please cough up a few bucks to WLUW. Their pledge drive ends tonight and they have some cool gifts. This afternoon: Steven in the Evenin’ reuinion show 2-6pm featuring an interview with Frank Black. Later tonight, Slacky J’s reggae show is the Friday night 2SB soundtrack.
Onion Chips!
Vina and I actually rode last night, out to Superdawg. Thanks to Chad for documenting this rare occurrence. Ryan: did you guys paint the Sprint or something? It looks good!” Us: “Uh, no.”

Panther attack at 2SB
We’re having a few technical difficulties at team 2sb (who knew OSX Panther doesn’t support older stock G4 video cards?) so we might be slow on posts for a couple days. We’ll tally the votes in the music poll over the weekend, so there’s still time to vote.
Coachella Valley Vespa
This Vespa ET2 from the 2001 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was signed by Perry Ferrell, Flea, Sean Lennon, Live, the Chemical Brothers, and more! It’s unclear whether Weezer signed it or not. Bidding’s at just about retail, but there’s four days left for it to spiral out of control.
Obi-Wan Kenobi to circumnavigate globe on Honda Ruckus
OK, they haven’t announced their bikes yet, but Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman are riding from
New York to London, the long way. A TV series and book will be created along the way. Thanks to Lu$ for the link.
Wanted: Vespa with question marks.
Posted on 2SS: “Hi, I’m looking for my first scooter. Used, big enough for 2, a few years old, with a straight body suitable for covering with question marks, in the $1200 range. If you have a scooter that matches or is close to that contact me at matthew@lesko.com or 301-929-8400 (Bethesda MD).” Yep, it’s that Matthew Lesko.
Scooter thief caught on camera
Wussy Jay from Seattle’s P200 was stolen from the Sahara parking garage during the Vegas Rally. Take a look at the Security Camera Footage and see if you recognize the thief. Look out for the bike, too.

Free scooter for headhunters
Kirk Tindel in Atlanta lost his job last week, so he’s offering a free scooter to “anyone [who] gives him a lead that ends up with him getting a permanent position in his area and within his salary range.” Choices include a Gilera Runner 180 and a few Vespas.
Scooter Racing Nationals
After a few years of attempts to start a national scooter race, it looks like someone pulled it together. Scooterracing.info features information on the race, due to be held in Colorado in September, and interviews with top racers. Hopefully MASS will announce a schedule soon so the midwest kids can represent.
Voting still open in music awards
The six or seven of you that are waiting with bated breath for the winners are just going to have to wait a couple more days. Vote! Vote again! It’s all rigged anyway. I’ve simplified the ballot for those of you daunted by the previous version.
LambrettaUSA vacation photos
CMSI of Seattle announced the opening of their Italian office in Desenzano. “The Desenzano offices of Lambretta USA will coordinate the Italian sourcing and Italian vendor relations.” Allright, great, let’s see the product already. Thanks for the tip, Al.
